State Cup Success: Austral U13s and U17s Reach Final Eight

Austral Soccer Club is proud to celebrate a fantastic achievement by our Under 13 and Under 17 teams, with both sides advancing to the Quarter Finals of the Football NSW State Cup.

After overcoming tough opposition in previous rounds, both teams now find themselves just one win away from a place in the State Cup Semi Finals.

Under 13’s

Our Under 13 side booked their place in the Quarter Finals with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Northbridge FC Academy in Knockout Round 4.

In a tightly contested match, the boys showed tremendous determination, discipline and teamwork to keep a clean sheet against a strong Northbridge outfit. The narrow victory was enough to see Austral progress and continue what has been an outstanding State Cup campaign.

The challenge now gets even bigger as they prepare to face Kellyville Colts Red in the Quarter Finals.

Under 17s

The Under 17s produced one of the most dramatic moments of the club’s State Cup journey so far, overcoming Baulkham Hills Football Club in a penalty shootout after a thrilling 1-1 draw in Knockout Round 2.

With scores locked at full time, the match was decided from the spot. Showing incredible composure under pressure, the boys held their nerve to claim a 5-4 penalty shootout victory and secure their place in the final eight teams remaining in the competition.

Their reward is a Quarter Final clash against a formidable Rockdale City Suns side.
