Grand Final Weekend: Six Teams Do Austral Proud
Austral Soccer Club has wrapped up a fantastic 2026 season with six teams representing the club on Grand Final weekend, bringing home two Premierships and producing some incredibly close contests across the weekend.
Our Under 15 Division 2 and Under 18 Division 2 sides finished their seasons as 2026 Premiers, while our Under 13 Division 3, Under 14 Division 3, Under 14 Division 5 and Under 18 Division 1 teams all finished as Grand Finalists.
It was a weekend that showcased the strength of football at Austral and, most importantly, the determination, commitment and team spirit shown by our players throughout the entire season.
Grand Final Results
- Under 13 Division 3 – Grand Finalists | Lost 1–0
- Under 14 Division 3 – Grand Finalists | Lost 2–1
- Under 14 Division 5 – Grand Finalists | Lost 3–2
- Under 15 Division 2 – 2026 Premiers | Won 2–1
- Under 18 Division 1 – Grand Finalists | Lost 4–3 after extra time
- Under 18 Division 2 – 2026 Premiers | Won 4–2
Under 13 Division 3
Our Under 13 Division 3 side faced a tight battle in their Grand Final, with just a single goal separating the two teams.
Austral fought right until the final whistle but eventually went down 1–0.
While it wasn’t the result the players had hoped for, earning a place in the Grand Final was a fantastic achievement and something the entire team should be extremely proud of.
Under 14 Division 3
Our Under 14 Division 3 team also came incredibly close, going down 2–1 in another hard-fought Grand Final.
The team battled throughout the contest and never stopped looking for a way back into the match.
It brought to an end an outstanding season for the group, with reaching the Grand Final a fitting reward for the work and commitment shown by the players throughout 2026.
Under 14 Division 5
There was no shortage of action in the Under 14 Division 5 Grand Final, with five goals scored in a contest that could have gone either way.
Austral fought hard throughout the match but eventually fell just short, going down 3–2.
It was a heartbreaking finish, but nothing can take away from what this group achieved by earning their place on Grand Final day.
Under 15 Division 2 – 2026 Premiers 🏆
Our Under 15 Division 2 side finished a brilliant season in the best possible way, becoming 2026 Premiers with a 2–1 Grand Final victory.
This team had already enjoyed an outstanding campaign, securing the Minor Premiership with four games remaining, but there was still one major goal left to achieve.
On Grand Final day, they delivered.
The players showed the same determination, teamwork and character that had been a feature of their season, holding their nerve in a tight contest to secure the victory and add the Premiership to an already memorable year.

Under 18 Division 1
Our Under 18 Division 1 side produced one of the most dramatic matches of Grand Final weekend.
After an incredibly tight contest couldn’t be decided in regulation time, the match went into extra time, where Austral continued to fight for the Premiership.
Seven goals were eventually scored across a thrilling match, with Austral falling agonisingly short 4–3 after extra time.
It was a heartbreaking way for the season to finish, particularly after another outstanding campaign that saw the team crowned Minor Premiers for the fifth consecutive year.
The result, however, doesn’t take away from another remarkable season for this group and everything they have achieved together.
Under 18 Division 2 – 2026 Premiers 🏆
Our Under 18 Division 2 side completed a tremendous season with a 4–2 Grand Final victory to become 2026 Premiers.
After going through the regular season undefeated and claiming the Minor Premiership, the team had the opportunity to finish the job on Grand Final day.
And they did exactly that.
Austral produced four goals on the biggest stage and delivered another fantastic team performance to complete the season as both Minor Premiers and Grand Final winners.
It was a fitting conclusion to an outstanding campaign and an achievement that the players, coaching staff, manager and families can be incredibly proud of.

A Weekend to Be Proud Of
To have six Austral Soccer Club teams competing in Grand Finals on the same weekend is an achievement in itself.
To come away with two Premierships and have the remaining four teams involved in matches decided by such fine margins shows just how competitive our teams were on the biggest stage.
But Grand Final weekend is also about much more than the final score.
Every one of these teams earned their opportunity through months of training, matches, hard work and commitment.
We congratulate every player who pulled on the Austral shirt, as well as the coaches and managers who have given countless hours to their teams throughout the year.
A massive thank you must also go to our parents, families and supporters who have been there week after week and who turned out in numbers to support our teams throughout the finals series.
And finally, congratulations once again to our Under 15 Division 2 and Under 18 Division 2 – your 2026 Premiers!
