Grand Final Glory for Our DDL Teams
It was a huge Grand Final weekend for Austral Soccer Club, with three of our DDL teams earning their place on the biggest stage and representing the club with pride.
Our Under 11 Division 9, Under 11 Division 2 Ladies, and Under 12 Division 4 teams all competed in their respective Grand Finals, capping off fantastic seasons with two Premierships and one Runners-Up finish — with two of the matches requiring extra time and one going all the way to a penalty shootout.
Under 11 Division 9 – Grand Final Runners-Up
Our Under 11 Division 9 team could not have given anything more.
In an incredibly tight Grand Final, the boys battled right through regulation time and extra time, with nothing able to separate the two teams.
The Grand Final ultimately went all the way to a penalty shootout, where unfortunately the result didn’t fall Austral’s way.
While finishing Runners-Up will hurt after coming so incredibly close, these players should hold their heads high. To take a Grand Final all the way to penalties shows the fight, determination and character within this team.
One kick of the ball doesn’t define their season.
Making a Grand Final is a tremendous achievement and a reflection of the work and development this group has shown throughout the entire year.

What a way to win a Grand Final!
Our Under 11 Division 2 Ladies showed incredible determination and composure, with their Grand Final going into extra time before the girls found a way to get the job done and be crowned 2026 Premiers.
It was a fitting end to a fantastic season for a group that has continued to grow in confidence, ability and belief in one another throughout the year.
When the biggest moment of their season arrived, the girls kept fighting, kept working for each other and delivered when it mattered most.
Winning a Grand Final is special. Winning it in extra time makes it a moment these girls, their coaches and their families will remember for a very long time.
Adding to a memorable day, Isla Smith was named Grand Final MVP, recognising an outstanding performance on the biggest stage.

Under 12 Division 4 – Grand Final Winners
Our Under 12 Division 4 side also finished their season in the best possible way, claiming the 2026 Premiership with victory in their Grand Final.
It was a special achievement for a team that has enjoyed plenty of success throughout its DDL journey. This marked their second Premiership in three years, having won the inaugural DDL Grand Final as Under 10 Division 5 Premiers, before now finishing their DDL careers as Under 12 Division 4 Premiers.
From their first DDL season to their last, this group has continued to grow, develop and show plenty of character. Throughout 2026, they worked for each other, improved week after week and stepped up when it mattered most.
Reaching a Grand Final is an achievement in itself, but to go out on the biggest day of the season and get the job done is something every player should be incredibly proud of.
Adding to a memorable Grand Final day, Yestin Narayan was named Grand Final MVP after an outstanding performance, while Michael Simeone was named Division MVP, a fantastic individual achievement across the entire season.
To begin their DDL journey as Premiers and then finish it as Premiers three years later is a fitting way for this special group to close out this chapter together.

Under 12 Division 4 – 2026 Premiers!
Three Teams, One Proud Club
To have three DDL teams competing in Grand Finals and come away with two Premierships and a Runners-Up finish is a fantastic achievement for Austral Soccer Club.
And these weren’t ordinary Grand Finals.
We watched our Under 11 Division 2 Ladies dig deep and become Premiers in extra time. We watched our Under 11 Division 9 boys fight until the very end, with their Grand Final decided by a penalty shootout. And we watched our Under 12 Division 4 side complete their season as Grand Final Champions.
These results are about more than trophies. They represent the countless hours spent at training, the early mornings and weekends, the commitment of our coaches and managers, and the incredible support our players receive from their families.
Most importantly, they show the continued development of our junior players and the strength of the teams being built at Austral.
